G.A.T.E.s Field Trip into Natural History

Taylor L's Elementary School GATES classes were able to go to their make up Field trip to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. It snowed in December the day they were supposed to go.
I was able to go as a Chaperone and help with the bus loads of advanced students.
It was an extra treat for Taylor as she has been a member for five years now. Also a member of the Young Scientist Club, Taylor practically acted as a tour guide for everyone and new names and species of almost everything in the building.
It was great to have the directors and managers greet, hug and have a picture with Taylor.
It was fun to see the crowds gather around her as she explained the different exhibits...
I got to take a hundred pictures and videos.
When we got home, Taylor put together a Power Point CD for all the classmates. That and gifts I purchased for all the students at the gift store made for an exciting three hours.
When the teachers told me that they were amazed at Taylor's knowledge of the workings of the museum, I had to explain that for every Saturday we were in town in 2008, she came and visited for hours, attending the Science seminars, working on the weekend projects offered and helping with the lectures...
It was a Saturday project come rain or snow, and we are working on having the family names placed with the rest of the bricks at the entrance of the Museum..
God Bless our youth...

Hey - good to hear from you. We are doing well. I did not go to a funeral in Utah recently - the name doesn't ring a bell. See you next Sunday (I'll be singing in your ward.)
